Dear Terry
How very special you were for so many years, much loved by the children when you played games and did amazing tricks with your white rabbit, and Punch and Judy shows. You were brilliant at mending things and always ready to help when needed. our loss is heaven’s gain. Love Judy and Andi

What a wonderful man we have lost. It was my honour to get to know Terry through Covid - he was initially reticent and a man of few words but as the lockdowns relaxed and we got to know one another he became a dear friend. I cherished our Wednesday morning drives to Farncombe Day Centre - where I used to get snippets of history and his childhood. Picking him up at the end of the day at the Green bus stop always filled with dread on whether he'd made it to the bus on time (he didn't have a mobile so it was always a lottery!).
My favourite memory (there are many, many more!) was when he asked me to come to his at 2pm sharp as he had problems with his water tank - I (foolishly) thought he had called a plumber out and I was there as the muscle.....but no, I was greeted by an overall clad Terry telling me to 'hold the ladder in case I fall!!'.
Terry, although in his 90's, taught me that age doesn't define you - he was fiercely independent and never work shy. He used to proudly tell me of all the work he did on number 5 and he still maintained his huge garden himself. When we put our house up for sale it was Terry I was dreading telling - not that he relied on me, it was me who would miss him. We kept in touch on email now and again but I truly missed our weekly catch ups in person.
Terry, you have left a wonderful legacy and I will treasure all the memories. Rest in Peace dear friend x
